Led by an opportunistic offense that received ten free passes, the Avengers of East Greenwich defeated Flood Ford, 9-3.

Keyan Zahedi, who earned the win, struck out nine batters and allowed only three runs on seven scattered hits in a complete game effort.

Offensively, EG received hits from Nolan Colucci (2 rbi’s), Trey McAuliffe (2 rbi’s), Tyler Gecawich (one run) Walker Klika (two runs).

Cam Deley and Nolan LaPerche collected two hits for Flood Ford.

South Kingstown/Narragansett edged Slocum Baseball of North Kingstown, 9-8, for their first win of the year.

Backed by a ten-hit attack, West Warwick defeated the East Greenwich, 6-2, in the second game of a doubleheader. With the win, WWCM improves to 5-2-1 in Connie Mack play.

West Warwick received solid pitching from Zack Lawrence, Josh Pedus and Anthony Burt.

Lawrence, who picked up both wins in the doubleheader, struck out six batters and allowed two runs in three innings. Pedus struck out seven batters in three innings of middle relief and Burt struck out the side in the top of the seventh inning to seal the victory.

Offensively, WWCM received hits from Mike Gallo (rbi double), Jack Proulx (2/4, one run and one rbi double), Lawrence (2/4, two runs scored), Logan Dean (rbi single), Leyton Belanger (1/3), Pedus (1/2, one run scored), Burt (rbi single) and Caden Denton (one rbi).

Led by the strong pitching of Jack Proulx and Zack Lawrence, the West Warwick Connie Mack team moved to 4-2-1 on the year with a 1-0 victory over Coventry.

Proulx, who started, struck out eight batters and allowed just two hits in 4 2/3 innings of work. Lawrence, who picked the win, struck out five batters and also, allowed only two hits in 2 1/3 innings of work.

After stranding three Coventry runners in the top of the sixth inning, West Warwick opportunistically scored the only run of the game when Josh Pedus reached in a hit batsman with one out. Pedus, who stole second, scored after an errant throw on an attempted steal of third base went into left field.

Offensively, WWCM received two hits from Anthony Burt.
